Sadly this is the only picture I got of the crow I rescued in my backyard today. You can see her injured wing right there, I’m not sure if it was fully broken or just injured, as she was bleeding when I found her and there’s a clear area where her feathers were stripped away. I couldn’t get a closer look (for fear of making the injury worse), so I just gave her a comfy towel-lined box to sit in, gave her some bread (which she ate), and waited while I located where to take her.
She was very calm and well-behaved throughout it all, though. Not once did she try to bite, or peck at me, or even struggle. Here’s to hoping that the shelter and the wildlife rehabilitation center can help get lil Bonita flying again.
